The Transport Department is charged with the responsibility of looking after the functioning ofMotor Vehicle Department, UT Ladakh, UT Motor Garages and J&K Road Transport Corporation. The department of Transport has a clear vision of providing quality services in the area of transport to the citizens of all the geographical locations at a reasonable and affordable cost and for this the department has adopted policies/programmes commensurate with the needs in various sectors of the economy.

The Directorate of Tourism, UT Ladakh is the main developmental, promotional and regulatory arm of the Tourism Department of UT Ladakh Government. Its main role comprises of overall planning and execution of schemes for the development, up-gradation and improvement of the tourism infrastructure in different parts of the UT.

The School Education Civil Secretariat Department was established in the year 2019, after UT was granted to Ladakh. It is responsible for handling all the School Education related affairs in UT Ladakh. It has launched various incentive schemes for enrolment drive especially for girls' enrolment.

The Rural Development Department in the UT of Ladakh is playing a vital role for poverty alleviation and providing rural infrastructures. The Department implement the most prestigious scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which provides 100 days guaranteed manual employment to every eligible household in a year.Under State Sector (Capex), the department besides other activities is providing all weather road connectivity to every villages/hamletand also sustainable approach paths by fixing of interlocking tiles.

Public Works (R&B) Department is responsible for construction, maintenance, and planning of roads, bridges, and Government building. In view of strategic location of Ladakh bordering China & Pakistan, the responsibility of PW (R&B) becomes of much more attentive from defense point of view. Similarly for local populace, the importance is enhanced due to tourist importance places like Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Leh place, Guruduwara Pathar Sahib, Spiti Valley, Hunderman Village, Rangdum Monastery, Cave Monastery and so many other important places.
