The Information Technology Department is responsible for handling all ICT related affairs in UT Ladakh. Various e-Governance Projects have been launched to reach out to citizens in a more effective manner and the age-old conventional functioning is being revamped through Business Process Re-engineering.

The Department is mandated to frame policies, prepare plans and implement schemes for growth of urban areas and to provide civic amenities in urban areas. The Department is also entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the urban local bodies enabling them to discharge their functions effectively in terms of providing quality municipal services to the people.

The department deals with the service matters pertaining to the departments under its administrative control. The Department also works for bringing about improvement in the overall scenario by taking timely and pre-emptive measures for maintaining public order across the UT of Ladakh.

The Department of Higher Education is responsible for the overall development of the basic infrastructure of Higher Education sector, both in terms of policy and planning. The Departments looks after expansion of access and qualitative improvement in Higher Education, through world class Universities, Colleges and other Institutions.

The General Administration Department, Ladakh by virtue of its duties is the nerve center of the administration. It came into existence after the bifurcation of erstwhile state of J&K into UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and UT Ladakh on 31st October, 2019. The Department functions under the supervision and control of the Lieutenant Governor, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and the Administrative Secretary of General Administration Department.

Finance Department is responsible for all matters relating to financial procedure and the application of the principles of sound finance. Preparation of Annual Appropriation Accounts of the Demand for Grants, submission of statement of Central Transactions and material for finance Account to be sent to the Controller General of Accounts.

Excise Department being a major revenue-earning department apart from fulfilling its primary responsibility of revenue collection, the department controls and regulates the liquor intoxicants and discharges the responsibility of making available the same in safe quality to the consumers.

The Employment Exchanges in UT Ladakh had been catering to the recruitment needs of various Organizations. But after the Supreme Court Judgement passed in 1996, the notifying departments were given the discretion to invite the applications at their own level in addition to the names being sponsored by the Employment Department.

The Election Department Ladakh, came into existence after formation of Ladakh as a new Union Territory in 2019. The Department is headed by the Administrative Secretary at the level of Secretariat.
