The department of Animal Husbandry Veterinary Services started functioning independently from 1945. The main objective of the department is to make farmers, farm labors and landless farmers of rural area economically self sufficient by providing them additional employment in their village itself through implementation of dairy development by organizing village level dairy cooperatives and procuring milk through them. The milk, so procured, is made available to urban consumers in the form of fresh, pure and disinfected milk and different milk products prepared from it at reasonable price.
