The Abhiyaan was launched to boost employment and livelihood opportunities for migrant workers returning to villages, in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak. It focuses on durable rural infrastructure and providing modern facilities like internet in the villages. Rs 50,000 Crore worth project to be implemented in a mission mode campaign in 125 days in 116 Districts of 6 States.

The Health & Family Welfare Department of West Bengal has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in the state. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State. About 80% of the Government health care services to the citizens are being provided free of cost.

Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India. The Jal Jeevan Mission will be based on a community approach to water and will include extensive Information, Education and communication as a key component of the mission.

The basic objective of NAM is to promote AYUSH medical systems through cost effective AYUSH services, strengthening of educational systems, facilitate the enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani and Homoeopathy (ASU and H) drugs and sustainable availability of ASU and H raw-materials.
