Kamjong District was created as a new district among seven new districts by bifurcating from the existing Ukhrul District. Kamjong District is located in the north of the Manipur State and it is a hill district of the state with full of scenic beauty. District is home of colorful Tangkhul people and Tankhuls are the dominant tribe and other tribe like Kuki are also included in very low number.

The geographical boundaries of Jiribam district are Tousem sub-division of Tamenglong district and Tipaimukh sub-division of Churchandpur district on the East, Cachar district of Assam and Barak River on the West, again Cachar district of Assam and Jiri River on the North and Tipaimukh sub-division of Churchanpur district and Barak River on the South.

ICAR- National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer has e very good state -of-art auditorium, fully air conditioned and having wi-fi facility. The auditorium has named after Dr. R.S. Paroda, Former Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India. The auditorium is having a sitting capacity of nearly 200 people. The auditorium is having projector as well as audio visual faculties.

The Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) is working at National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer and responsible for facilities and its maintenance of Informational and Technology and implementation of ICT at the Centre. Recently a very good state-of-art AKMU Lab was established for better computing and service for Centre and training both.
