Mission smile is looking at bringing the cost per surgery down to Rs.17,500 form Rs 20000/- per surgery, which includes screening, travelling expense of the patient, their accommodation and fooding, camp cost, OT cost, travel expense of the Medical team of the NGO within India, their accommodation and fooding.

Under this programme, support is provided for strengthening of the health infrastructure and engagement of Human Resources in identified health facilities. To enhance community participation in health, a community health volunteer ASHA is promoted and a community based unit, named as Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS) are formed in between 50-100 households.

The 108 Mrityunjoy Emergency Response Services was formally inaugurated on 6th November, 2008 at Guwahati. The objective of the partnership is to improve access of the general public to services like Medical, Police and Fire. There are in total 696 ambulances covering all 27 districts. This Service has also 7 Boat Ambulances equipped with emergency medicines to respond to medical emergencies in riverine areas and during floods is one of the most unique approaches to improve response efficiency in the region.

Janani Suraksha Yojana(JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among the poor pregnant women. JSY integrates cash assistance with delivery and post-delivery care. The success of the scheme would be determined by the increase in institutional delivery among the poor families.

The scheme is for children between the age group of 0-18 years (Since 1st January 2020. Earlier it was for the age group of 0-14 years) who are born with defects in the Heart. The scheme is open to the children born to the permanent residents of Assam and whose annual income is Rs 6.00 Lakh or less. Government of Assam bears the entire expenses of screening, investigations and treatment (for those who need surgery) for these children in designated Cardiac centers in the State including designated hospitals of outside the State.
