Department of Youth Services & Sports came into beingexistence in the year 1976 to implement the Physical Education programmes in schools, side by side with General Education. The Department over the period of time brought under its purview a wide spectrum ofactivities like organizing Domestic & National level sports competitions for school Children and sending them to participate in National and State level sports tournaments representing UT Ladak.

The Rural Development Department in the UT of Ladakh is playing a vital role for poverty alleviation and providing rural infrastructures.
