The post-doctoral schemes provide fellowship and contingency and/or research grants to carry on research in frontier areas of Basic or Applied Science. The fellowships target scientists/researchers having a PhD degree with an excellent track record of publications in reputed journals, patents and achievements. There are specific post-doctoral schemes, specially aimed to reverse brain drain and attract talented and exceptional researchers working abroad with international experience to India and contribute to Indian science to the best of their abilities.
